Blessed #Easter. Christ has risen. Today I want to share with you some of my reflections from my personal diary. They were written at the moments when I was frustrated with God. I also want to recommend to you a book by my colleague and friend Riad Kassis – «FRUSTRATED WITH #GOD. A Syrian Theologian’s Reflections on #Habakkuk». It is very powerful, especially in the context of frustration with God when looking at what is happening in #Syria, #Ukraine, and other places where it seems that God is dead. But He is not. Christ has risen. Christ has risen indeed, despite our frustrations with Him.

It is impossible to know the true taste of bread without experiencing hunger…
It is impossible to appreciate the value of fresh water without suffering from thirst…
It is impossible to enjoy the joy of sunrise without experiencing nightmares and insomnia…
It is impossible to know the power of forgiveness without knowing the repulsiveness of sin and force of fall…
It is impossible to know the power of unity without experiencing the affliction of division…

We are like individual grapes, gathered and thrown in the grape press to be crushed and pressed down to the last drop and becoming blessed and delicious wine, such as the wine coming from the #Crimean Peninsula!

We are like individual coffee beans, gathered and thrown in the coffee grinder to be strongly crushed until we become ground coffee. As if this is not enough, we are further placed on blazing flames until we boil and become a tasty drink that is enjoyed by many people worldwide!

We are like individual wheat grains, brought to the gristmill to be ground between the millstones mercilessly until we become fine flour. As if this is not enough, we must be kneaded well and baked on burning fire, to become tasty #Russian bread!

We are like individual olives, brought to the olive press to be crushed down to the last drop of oil, to become oil for nutrition, healing, and blessing!

Life is stronger than death.
Peace is stronger than war.
Faith is stronger than doubt.
Hope is stronger than despair.
Love is stronger than hatred.
Mercy is stronger than violence.
Trust is stronger than treachery.
Light is stronger than darkness.
Good is stronger than evil.
